Spatiotemporal proteomics of mouse somitogenesis

In this study, we mapped spatial and temporal RNA and protein expression during mouse somitogenesis to better understand how signalling dynamics are regulated during embryonic development.

Our dataset provides a time-resolved view of the oscillatory proteome and identifies many proteins with dynamic expression patterns across the segmentation clock. Using this resource, we uncovered dynamic, antiparallel expression of RSPO3 and its receptor LGR4. These dynamics tune the amplitude of oscillatory Wnt signalling and are required for robust segment-boundary formation.

Together, our findings show how spatial ligand-receptor organization and temporal dynamics combine to shape signalling waves during development.
