We have released a new preprint on bioRxiv exploring how cell proliferation is coordinated with the segmentation clock during embryonic development. Our results show that this coupling is essential for robust somitogenesis and accurate somite scaling.
This work was a collaborative effort with Y. Irene Li and Ben Simons and provides new insights into the mechanisms that control vertebrate development and highlights the importance of dynamic signalling in regulating tissue patterning.
