We are excited to share our recent publication, “Live imaging of adult zebrafish cardiomyocyte proliferation ex vivo”, in Development. In this study, we developed a microfluidic system to culture slices of adult zebrafish heart tissue, enabling real-time imaging of cardiomyocyte proliferation during regeneration. This innovative approach provides a dynamic platform to study the cellular mechanisms underlying heart tissue repair.
This work was a fruitful collaboration with the lab of Jeroen Bakkers at the Hubrecht Institute, combining our expertise in microfluidics with their proficiency in cardiac development and regeneration research.
